Meet the New NESsT
After nearly 20 years of developing social enterprises, our work and our strategy have evolved to encompass so much more than what we ever had envisioned when NESsT started. Today, we turn our sights to an even loftier goal. We are committing to providing jobs and income to lift 50,000 people out of poverty in the next five years so that they too have opportunities for dignified lives.
Engaged Philanthropy Offers Innovative Solution for Investing in Social Change
Venture philanthropy recognizes that a great program – one that teaches kids to read, helps lift people out of poverty, or improves health outcomes – is no stronger than the organization underpinning its delivery. It’s crucial to invest in the organization and its capacity. If you want to have effective, sustainable programs that really make a difference, you must have a strong, stable organizational infrastructure supporting it. You have to go beyond writing a check and take a long-term view of what it means to invest in solutions to global or local problems.

Strengthening Social Entrepreneur Business Skills
This summer, social entrepreneurs across the NESsT portfolio participated in hands-on training and networked with business mentors, investors and peers through a series of retreats and workshops.
